Ice Storm Feb. 2011

So here lays the credit for why I'm actually updating our family blog after one full year of not posting anything (that's so pathetic I know, one full year...just ridiculous, sorry) So much as happened, so many events have past and not one post. I will do my best today to catch you up on 2010 and move forward from here.

This ice storm has been the worst North Texas has seen in the past decade. School has been cancelled for the past two days and probably again tomorrow. We've been stuck indoors with rolling black outs, at times without running water, and our cable and Internet comes and goes.

I can't even describe into words how much I hate cold weather. Often this winter I've dreamt about moving some place hot and more hot, like Florida or something.

We kept Jaydon indoors all of yesterday, it's just too cold. Then today I started to feel bad seeing all the pictures of my friends children playing in the snow on facebook (can you even call it snow? it's like rock hard!) It doesn't even make foot prints!! So today we let him play outside for about 15 minutes, that was good enough for me... It was so super cold. The wind chill was like -4.

Here are some pictures we took:

And two videos for your viewing pleasure:

Roxy, Jaydon and Kaylee had fun with our 15 minute adventure outside, but I can say that I did not enjoy at all. Well, seeing Roxy slide over all the road and couldn't stop or start was pretty funny and seeing Jaydon not being able to make it up the ditch was funny too.

I would rather be warm indoors than bear the cold wind again. The view from our back windows is actually kinna pretty even though I do not like snow and cold weather one bit.

Decorating Our House for Halloween

All this rain we've been getting has delayed us decorating for Halloween. Finally, this weekend was rain free! We were able to get all of our decorations up and it looks good!

Check out our photos.

Let start out with our monster Bride and Groom taking their vows underneath our spooky arch.

Our Inflatable spider was supposed to be so much more than it is. We had planned to post a "just married" sign on the back of it and hang bones from it, but we didn't get around to it. Being Halloween is almost here, we'll probably just save that idea for next year.

Our graveyard is my favorite! We made all the tombstones ourselves. Jaydon and I set up lights around them to lite it up at night. The sayings are just so cute and clever. I wish I could take credit for coming up with them, but it was all from searching the Internet. Here are a closer look at the tombstones. Which one is your favorite?

That's it! That's our house all decorated for Halloween. We hope you like it.

Our Little Slugger

Jaydon sure can whack the heck out of a baseball. Check him out in the first video. He even got the attention of our neighbors guests who were having BBQ.

Now if we could just work on his attention span, whining, anger management issues and him saying, "huh?" all the time as seen in the next video, I'd be one happy mama.

PS. Melton is our neighbor on the other side of us. Jaydon always seems concerned about his whereabouts and doings.

I never thought my son would be a baseball player, but he loves it. I can't wait to sign him up for tee ball. I wonder what age they start tee ball? I'm so clueless when it comes to baseball or soft ball! I mean, I know the rules and how to hit a ball, but I was always too scared of the ball to play a serious game. Besides it's kind of boring to watch. Hopefully, he won't be real serious about it.

"It's a Big Tractor!"

AT&T came out to work on some lines buried in our front ditch. They dug up about every other house or so. Hopefully, we'll put it back like it was when they are through working. Go Figure... Right when I finally get the house looking good from the front, I came home to a dug up ditch. Although, I didn't mind too much Jaydon loves tractors!
"Wow, Mommy it's a Big Tractor!"
Even Roxy was interested in the Tractor.
How long do you think they will be occupied by this tractor?

"Roxy, do you see it Roxy? See it Tractor."
Poor Dog was handled by Jaydon

Answer: An hour and 30 minutes!!!!

Meet Roxy Susu

Roxy Susu joined our family against Brian's will in late February. She's doing very well. She still chews, jumps on people, and is mostly potty trained. Yesterday, she got her very first haircut. Oh man, she's just so much cuter!!!

The Big Blue Tractor

Kaylee has been begging me to post the tractor pictures for everyone to see, so here you go. A couple of weeks ago our neighbor's next door called and ask if Jaydon could come out and play. When we went outside there was this big blue tractor in their driveway. Jaydon was in love! He spent an hour on that thing climbing up and down. He even got to control the bucket. It was the highlight of his life. He still talks about it till this day.
