Lots Going On!!!

Wow! Its been a while since I've posted anything. Life is busy...like always, but I never find ourselves wondering why we do so much. We love being involved with our kids. Kaylee's schedule has gone a bit over board this year. She's playing on two different basketball teams, one for school and one for a private league. Brian happens to be coaching both of them, along with being co-commissioner of one of the leagues. So there's four nights/days taken up. On top of basketball, there's dance and more dance. Competition practice has started and Kaylee is in two Jazz numbers this year.....another three nights/days taken. Of course, Jaydon is Mr. Tag Along...poor guy. We're thinking about starting him in soccer when he turns 3....to get him warmed up for his red shirt year in basketball at age 4. Work has been a bit overwhelming for both Brian and I. Deadlines and constant interruptions keeps Brian stressed out. I just feel like I'm treading water... not really getting everything accomplished the way I would like to, but at least I'm not drowning! I have a new assistant as of last month...yes another new one! I know, I know, I just run them off. I've gone through more assistants than any other teacher I know. Anyhow, she's working out well. I'll do my best not to run her off.

Last night was Kaylee's School Christmas Musical. It was another amazing show! So cute and creative. The name of the production was Camel Lot....it was a spin on Car Sales. The 5th graders performed the acting parts, while preK and 4th grades were the choir. Kaylee had a solo part, as well as some speaking lines. She was very nervous to sing and it shows in the video. She did a great job!!! But claims she's never doing that again. So enjoy the footage of her 1st and last singing solo.

Here is some Highlights of that evening of fun:

Decorating Our House for Halloween

All this rain we've been getting has delayed us decorating for Halloween. Finally, this weekend was rain free! We were able to get all of our decorations up and it looks good!

Check out our photos.

Let start out with our monster Bride and Groom taking their vows underneath our spooky arch.

Our Inflatable spider was supposed to be so much more than it is. We had planned to post a "just married" sign on the back of it and hang bones from it, but we didn't get around to it. Being Halloween is almost here, we'll probably just save that idea for next year.

Our graveyard is my favorite! We made all the tombstones ourselves. Jaydon and I set up lights around them to lite it up at night. The sayings are just so cute and clever. I wish I could take credit for coming up with them, but it was all from searching the Internet. Here are a closer look at the tombstones. Which one is your favorite?

That's it! That's our house all decorated for Halloween. We hope you like it.

A Day in My Gym

Work has been so crazy this year. As you could probably tell since I haven't been posting anything new lately. I have so much to do and it seems like there's not ever enough time to get it done. I'm sure everyone knows that feeling.

So I decide to go up this weekend and try to get some work done. Kaylee brought her best bud with her and Jaydon had to bring Roxy (our dog). The kids played as I worked. They managed to pull just about every piece of equipment out to play with, made up new games, and even put on a talent show staring Jaydon and his sunshine.

Here are a few, ok a lot of pictures and videos of our day at my gym. Oh, and surprise surprise I didn't get all the work done I needed to. Thinking about heading up there again tomorrow...Rrrr.

The Following are videos of the kids messing around with the sound system that is set up for our music program coming up. They decided to put on a talent show complete with judges. The videos are all too cute, I couldn't decide which ones not to post, so here they ALL are :)

Our Little Slugger

Jaydon sure can whack the heck out of a baseball. Check him out in the first video. He even got the attention of our neighbors guests who were having BBQ.

video

Now if we could just work on his attention span, whining, anger management issues and him saying, "huh?" all the time as seen in the next video, I'd be one happy mama.

PS. Melton is our neighbor on the other side of us. Jaydon always seems concerned about his whereabouts and doings.

video

I never thought my son would be a baseball player, but he loves it. I can't wait to sign him up for tee ball. I wonder what age they start tee ball? I'm so clueless when it comes to baseball or soft ball! I mean, I know the rules and how to hit a ball, but I was always too scared of the ball to play a serious game. Besides it's kind of boring to watch. Hopefully, he won't be real serious about it.

Every Boy Needs His Own Tractor!

Every boy needs his own tractor, right? Well, Jaydon's tractor lives at the Toy store and we visit it almost every Sunday after church. Maybe one winter's day Papa will buy it for him ;)

See the video below to see how Jaydon works his Papa.

Our weekly trip to Toys R Us usually starts with Jaydon running to the Train aisle and playing with the Thomas the Trains for a LONG while with me standing there trying to rush him. Cause I know once we get to the Power Wheels it's another 30 minutes pretending to ride around. Kaylee and Brian head off to the Lego and Star Wars areas and see what they can con me into allowing them to purchase next.

This is their latest con... The stupid thing is over 2 1/2 feet long in diameter!

This is how the conversation went...

Brian: "Oh honey, (I'm thinking oh here we go...) They have a Millennium Falcon on sale 50% off for the Star Wars Action figures."

Me: "Don't you already have a Millennium Falcon for the action figures?"

Brian: "Yes, for the small action figures, but this is the MF for the bigger action figures Kaylee has on her shelves."

Me: "Kaylee doesn't play with those action figures, why does she need a MF for them?"

Brian: "Not for Kaylee, but for Jaydon when he gets older and wants to play with them." (yeah right, he means for himself play with)

Me: "Well, how much is it?"

Brian: "It's on sale for 50% off."

Me: "50% off of what?"

Brian: "I've never seen it this cheap.... Well, I don't care what you say I'm buying it! (pause) ... For Jaydon."

He purchased that thing and had the biggest goofiest smile on his face for the rest of the day. The man is living his childhood dreams through our children. Kaylee jokes that she's going to start her own Star Wars Museum and charge admission into her room. The funny thing is she really could with the amount of stuff she has. That should be my future post.

LEGO Train Set

What's with this family and Legos? It's really crazy the amount of Lego sets the kids have and I completely blame Brian for it! The newest and probably the most coolest in my opinion is Jaydon's new Lego Train set. Brian bought it for Jaydon when we were away in El Paso. He set it up in his room as a surprise for when we got home. Jaydon was so EXCITED when he saw it: "Whoa, look mommy, look. It's trains. Oh thank you mommy." I love how he gave me the credit for it :) "Play with me trains, mommy."

I told him that he needed to thank Daddy for it when he got home. About two hours later Brian finally came home, Jaydon came running out of his room, "Thank you Daddy. Thank you my trains. Come play, play Daddy." I was surprised he remembered I told him to say Thank you to his daddy and that he did it all on his own as soon as Brian came home.

I'm sure we'll be posting more about Legos in the future...stay tuned.

Meteor Shower Camp Out

What a GREAT way to end the summer! Kaylee goes back to school tomorrow, but of course we had to get one more sleep over in before the summer ended. The night started off by Kaylee and best friend, Maddie both winning their semi-final game of the playoffs. Kaylee scoring half the points for her team, which was a Personal Best at 10 points. Now the two girls play against each other once again, for the Championship this Saturday!!

We got home about 10pm and I was taking the dog out for a walk and saw a shooting star (of course, I made a wish for an SUV!!!) So I quickly got the girls to come outside and we were talking about the meteor showers that are supposed to start tonight. As we were looking up into the night's sky, we spotted two more shooting stars. So being the random and spontaneous mom I am, I decided we needed to camp out. Brian of course thought we were crazy for wanting to set up a tent so late at night because it was too dark. I told him, "suck it up and be a cool dad!" So about an hour and some not so nice words under his breath later, we were all set up! Thanks Honey!

We had everything you could think of to keep us happy. And it only took about 25 trips back inside the house because we kept thinking of something else we needed. The girls talk about everything in this video:
