Dallas Mavericks Hoop Camp

Like I said, it's a basketball filled summer. This is probably Kaylee's favorite camp she attends. It's a week long co-ed camp put on by the Dallas Mavericks. This was Kaylee's forth year to attend. She was disappointed at first that she didn't get drafted to play up and had to stay in the younger group. But a great coach once told me, "it's better to be a big fish in a little pond, than a small fish in the sea." So I explained this to Kaylee and she understood, but still hoped she'd be moved up anyways...LOL
I am still blown away about how much Kaylee has improved. Every year we say "it's her break through year," but this year she's really living up to it. She stood out to all the coaches at the camp too...okay, so she's a foot taller than everyone else! But the coaches had an eye on her and she was given a special coaches award that all the coaches vote on at the end of the week. The award was only given to four out of sixty kids in her age group. Even more special the other girl who received the same award is her fellow classmate. Rock on Girls!
